I’m learning Windows Server 2003 SP1/R2 then I found out that Microsoft already released a new version which is the 2008 Server Edition. Do I have to continue learning the 2003 version or should I shift directly to the new release?

I am planning to take up the MCSA/MCSE certification, which version would you think is worth and recommended as of now?

I have to document the testing of a software, but the colleague who did the installation is gone to Mallorca for the next four weeks. I know the server we used runs under Windows 2000 Server, what Internet Information Service (IIS) is shipped with that Windows version? Please help, I have no account on the server and cannot look it up myself.

I’ve been reading a lot about Apache and how powerful it is as a web server. The only problem I’ve found with it so far, as with every other Linux based program, is the lack of well written and detailed instructions. I read that it’s important to verify your copy of Apache against the keys that are found on the Apache,org site. I downloaded the MD5 program but I have no idea what to do next. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this for the Windows XP version?

There’s a RedHat Linux server, and I need to find out the version number of RedHat that runs on it. I can ssh to it, and do not want to use X-Win as it is so slow.

I know Windows has “ver” command that does just that; is there something like that in Linux?
