I have a windows 2003 server with two NIC’s. Each NIC is connected to a seperate ISP(with seperate static IP addresses). I want to use NIC 1 for all outgoing communication initiated from the server and NIC 2 will be used if NIC 1 fails(changed manually to be used for outgoing communication initiated from the server. only accepts incomming connection sent to its IP address).
Is there any facility available in windows 2003 to change the NIC that should be used for outgoing communications initiated from the server? I don’t want to use the bandwidth provided by ISP 2 for NIC 2.
Otherwise is there any third party software available to do this?
Thanks,
Anders.

Hi – I’m looking to use the IP of my dedicated linux server as the IP address for my browser. I’d simply like to change the proxy settings for the browser and be able to use the linux server as a proxy. What is the most simple way to configure the server appropriately to enable this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I’m trying to find the edition in Windows Server 2003, that is used for large business purposes.
I’ve developed a program in Visual Basic and would like to distribute it be able to have the software check a linux server to see if the userid that is used to login to the software is both valid AND unique (to prevent duplicate logins).
Any suggestion on what I can use?
my VB application is a desktop application.
The verification software would be on the server on the internet.
The users could create their own password… I’d assign userids.
I know that something custom could be written, but I’d like to avoid that if there’s an off-the-shelf solution.
Can anybody tell me something about proxy. I heard that, using proxy we can mask our original IP address. But i dont know a deep about it.
Also is it legal to use proxy?
