Our IE at work has certain proxy settings but I can’t seem to take note of the URL because the text box where it’s entered is grayed out and it’s a long URL. I need to find out the configuration URL because my firefox won’t work without it.
Is there a text file somewhere in the hard drive where I can view all the settings that our IT staff entered like the homepage, proxy settings and all other stuff?
I installed portable firefox because of the tabbed browsing. Surfing is allowed in our company and they issued me a laptop. I no longer requested for firefox to be installed because it would take ages before they could process the request. I only need the URL for the automatic configuration so I can use my portable firefox and not the outdated IE 6 when browsing.
Anyone else knows where I could find that file?
I can browse the net fine (using firefox) but I cannot use download managers to connect to a server or use p2p filesharing or connect to a game server.
I suspect this is a proxy bloackage problem. I am not sure if it is on my router or on my computer. How can I change proxy settings on my computer or restore them to default?
When I got into the internet it takes so long to load. Im pretty sure it has something to do with this proxy settings thing, becauseto the bottom left were loading/downloading/service information is for the browser and website it says “Detecting proxy settings”. It takes it at least 2 minutes to do this proxy detecting.
Once it’s done doing that the internet works fine, and it’s not slow at all. Im guessing it’s a setting or something . . . how do I stop this proccess or make it go faster?
I am using internetexplorer 7 i want to change the proxy per U.S.
please provide me with the detailed information that is required to be filled
