I have a windows 2003 server with two NIC’s. Each NIC is connected to a seperate ISP(with seperate static IP addresses). I want to use NIC 1 for all outgoing communication initiated from the server and NIC 2 will be used if NIC 1 fails(changed manually to be used for outgoing communication initiated from the server. only accepts incomming connection sent to its IP address).
Is there any facility available in windows 2003 to change the NIC that should be used for outgoing communications initiated from the server? I don’t want to use the bandwidth provided by ISP 2 for NIC 2.
Otherwise is there any third party software available to do this?

Thanks,
Anders.

Ive been trying to put the right server information and port number. I dont even know if the port number is that important. Dont know if I have the right smtp address. Can anyone help me? Id even call you over the phone for help if u want and be so grateful! Ive been dealing with this too long. I was able to get my comcast address going in windows mail but not my yahoo account.

I have been trying to contact The New Yorker Magazine using their e-mail system. The system asks me for information on my outgoing (SMTP) and incoming (POP3) servers. Using information supplied by a response to my initial query in Yahoo Answers, I received the following error message:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for “Troubleshoot Windows Mail”, and read the “I’m having problems sending e-mail” section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was ‘writer_08816@yahoo.com’. Subject ‘New light verse for Spring’, Account: ‘pop.mail.yahoo.com’, Server: ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’, Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: ’530 authentication required – for help go to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-11.html’, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Please tell me what to do to fix the error and respond using The New Yorker Magazine’s e-mail.
