We have a server at work running Windows Small Business Server 2003 that is located behind a hardware firewall. We have 8 workstations going through the server before working their way out to the internet.

We have been having a problem with getting older versions of websites on our computers when people outside our network can see the newer version. For example, we upload data to an outside computer system that works in tandem with our main company software. However, when we then go to that website through Firefox or IE, the new information does not appear to be there, but if I call someone at home and have them check the website, it’s updated.

I can only assume it’s some sort of cache problem here at work, but I have no idea how to remedy the situation. Anyone else have any idea?

Hi all

My Internet explorer is not working and when I diagnose the problem, I get the following message

“Web Proxy” is not set up to establish connection on port “9666″ with this computer

=> Verify the current proxy server configuration
click for information about changing server proxy settings.

when I click the second sentence, a new help box opens telling me “You have lost your connection to the Windows Help and Support website. Try to connect again”

When I click on this “try again” nothing happens.

Plz help me solve this problem

I really hate it when you go into chat-room and they know your IP number and information. is there a proxy site or any special site that you can actually past through?? I’ve tried a couple but it wont’ let me go through. DOES anyone knows it?

I can’t even get to other information on my computer because the machine won’t go past the window that asks for user and password info. Thank for any help you can provide.

Advance Directives Help Assure End-of-Life Wishes Are Honored
WEDNESDAY, March 31 (HealthDay News) — When people prepare advance directives, such as a living will or a durable power of attorney for health care, most will receive the type of medical care that they’ve requested as they near the end of their lives, a new study suggests.

Hey all! I just downloaded a free trial of Windows Server 2008 (a 180 day evaluation) and I have several questions about it that I am hoping I could have answered by one of you cyber geniuses. Here are all of the questions that I have about this program. If you would be able to answer at least one of them, that would be great:

1. Is Windows Server 2008 an operating system (like Windows XP or Vista)?

2. How do I install Windows Server 2008 to my computer (I downloaded the .iso version of the software so I know I have to burn it to a disk so do I just run the setup from the disk?)?

3. How do I set up a domain for my network?

4. How do I add a computer running Windows XP Professional to the domain?

5. How do I add a computer running Windows Vista Ultimate to the domain?

6. If the computer that has Windows Server 2008 on it (host computer) is turned off/not connected to the internet, will the domain be unavailable until that computer is reconnected/turned back on?

7. Will setting up a domain make the computer say “Welcome to Windows. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to begin. Requiring this key combination at startup helps keep your computer secure. For more information, click Help.” on the computer running XP Professional?

8. Is Windows Server 2008 an addon to a current operation system?

9. What operating system is required to run/install Windows Server 2008?

10. The download is called Windows Server 2008 Standard, but there are also downloads for the program as Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, Windows Server 2008 Datacenter, and Windows Web Server 2008. Which one of these would I need to be able to install in Vista Ultimate and set up a domain with?

This is all I have for now and any help with these would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! If I have any other questions I will add them but I’m pretty sure they’re all covered here.

I have a client who needs DNS setup. They are running their internet through a DSL router/modem. One of the machines on the network (there are only 3, plus the server) takes a very long time to login to the domain with issues such as the taskbar taking 5 mins to load before you can actually click Start, ect. I figured turning the DC into a DNS Server would make the login times to the network a lot faster. To setup the server as a DNS server and still have all PC’s be able to access the internet, I know I need to know which IP Address is used for the ISP DNS Servers, but I am not sure where to enter that under the DNS configuration in Windows Server 2003. I can get into the config, but am a little cloudy when trying to figure out where to enter this information so that all clients behind the server can access the internet. Also i would just have to point the client machines to the Windows 2003 Server for their DNS after this right? Any help would be appreciated, especially step by step…

Thanks!

I am having trouble finding information that will help answer the question below.

Your boss wants to develop some in-house research about different manufacturers’ options for Storage Area Networks that are compatible with Windows Server 2003.
Research as many RAID hardware options as you can find.
