I m MCSE student & for practice i want to run “DCPROMO” in windows server 2003 without any network connection, i know that it can be done but i dont know how.

Ive been trying to put the right server information and port number. I dont even know if the port number is that important. Dont know if I have the right smtp address. Can anyone help me? Id even call you over the phone for help if u want and be so grateful! Ive been dealing with this too long. I was able to get my comcast address going in windows mail but not my yahoo account.
Any ideas? It’s as though proxies work as “Read-only”…
Is there an option to switch it off?
And can I get more information about proxies in general?
I use a proxy server through a VPN connection when connecting to work. I have a direct connection to the internet for personal use. When I switch between work and home my messenger account will not login even after correctly setting my proxy information. I’d like to be able to have messenger running while working it does not accept my proxy. To verify that my proxy is set correctly, I created a new ID and was able to login without any trouble. But once I switched to a direct connection and tried to go back to the proxy, messenger gave me a message that I could not login. Has anyone else solved this issue in the past?
