I have a new drive in the server to replace the system drive but can’t use the drive removal wizard to remove the system drive. Anyone have any ideas? My system drive is currently a 1tb with 2 partitions – One for the OS and the rest for data stores. I’d like to get away from this and have data only on one drive and the OS on another. I can.

I have a windows home server with two 1 TB hard drives with replication on.
I want to add capacity and was thinking at adding a 2 TB external USB drive.
I am wondering whether the drive extender does the replication later or whether it will write to both drives at the same time, one SATA internal and one usb drive resulting in a speed degradation or whether it writes to the fastest and then sync when idle.

How can I manually change an external hard disk’s drive letter (for example, from H;\ to G:\), in Windows Server 2008 R2?

It works fine with my Windows 2000 server, but I can’t do it for my Windows 2003 server. They are running separately.

can I install windows server on a xp OS already on the hard drive? Want to keep XP on the dell drive and add an evaluation CD windows server on the drive as well. Install to a folder will it give me options?

I would like to map a network file share sitting on a Windows 2000 server from a workstation that does not belong to the domain, using anonymous access
Here below is the command I use

c:\>net use V: \\FILE-SERVER\V-drive

FILE-SERVER is a Windows 2000 server machine belonging to a domain and the mapping is done from a computer that does NOT belog to the domain

I have windows 2003 server. I want to restrict my domain users, from accessing the CD and floppy drive. What is the procedure to revoke this privilege from Domain users?

Hi, my hard drive recently wouldn’t start Windows and our backup appears to have failed recently. Is there a very simple way to copy all the active directory, domain controller, logon scripts etc from the old hard drive and make them active on the new drive?

the main computer has windows server 2003 but others that are linked have windows xp.
could some one please help
