They sell dedicated computers for windows home server, and I am wondering if Microsoft makes you buy one of those to run home server, or if you can use any old computer/
I have a Vista 64 bit computer with 6 gigabytes of ram and a quad core processor and a home built Windows Home Server with 1.5gb of ram. I have Cat 6 wired between them connected via a Siemens 567 router from my isp Telus. My server is fast but I can only get 6mb/s transfer rate between the two. Shouldn’t I be able to get much faster speeds?
