I have windows 2000 server in my office. Some of our clients r not
doing proper shutdown. So is there any option to automatically Lock
the client system when they r not using? so other client cannot use
that system. If yes, how to configure that option in server. Plz
give me the reply
Screensaver with a password perhaps. Pretty easy to setup and works well. The login screen can be set to autolock after a set amount of time. Just force everyone to use passwords and get people to log off instead of shutting down. A program still is around called WinExit which works pretty well. Else upgrade to XP
Dear,
No need of grabbing information regarding Windows 2000,as u know that Microsoft launched Windows 2000 mainly for networking purposes and found lots of unwanted errors/bugs happening to windows 2000,so microsoft is not at all providing any support for Windows 2000 presently. So no use of grabbing information on a support banned product. It wont be useful for u in any means…

you can define policy for users so that system screen will get locked after 5 minutes or so.
to do so chek gpedit.msc,
dont forget to define this policy on domain level
Hi you can set up group policy on the server to lock the client computer but why not configure the client systems. You can simply change the desktop/laptop settings to lock the computer if it is ideal for certian amount of time.
And I am sure you know how to do it, so no point of explaining it.
Thanks
