I have been using proxy switcher for a wile now but a friend of mine asked me if proxy switcher really work to prevent hackers from getting your computer information or email and messenger passwords,
please help him out, i really wanna help him but i dont wanna give him the wrong answer,
also is there a proxy switcher than can be used for AIM,MSN,or Yahoo messenger?

Proxy switching would not ‘really’ defer a hacker based on what a proxy ‘does’. Most ‘hackers’ are really just lame kids that get a hold of a program written by a somewhat decent hacker. They then spread this virus around, typically by exploiting an open port of the target computer.
Using a proxy will not repair any local vulnerabilities, nor will it fix any security holes that are present in the services you’re running. All a proxy will do is change the IP that gets logged on websites you visit… which has it’s uses, but unless you are looking at something that is illegal in your country, it serves little to no purpose.
As for proxy switchers for aim / msn / yahoo, there would be little to no point whatsoever for that, Unless you direct connect, or file transfer over aim / msn / yahoo it is nearly impossible to ascertain someone elses IP address.
